Final wishes ???
« on: July 05, 2018, 05:20:02 pm »
Okay I'm trying to decide what my final wishes would be to either be buried or cremated I know being cremated would be much cheaper and I understand that part of it but Wonder should there be a stone somewhere for people to come and visit and remember me?? What are your thoughts are you going to be buried or have you thought about being cremated-- I'd love some insight on what you think about it

You can be buried. In fact, some cemeteries allow you to be buried with a loved one in one grave.   You would need to contact the cemetery of your choice.

I buried my mom after cremation (not that I wanted to do so) in her family's plot but I would love to have the money to remove her and bring her to the plot I will be going to and be with her. She had pre-planned everything and even picked out the vessel for her remains. It was a boxy thing that cannot be opened, so it was easy to bury it. I went to visit on all occasions with flowers and just to say hello and how much I missed her. I can't go since my leg doesn't allow me to walk on uneven ground and the cemetery is on a hill. I keep wishing one of my cousins or my kids would take flowers but they won't. My aunt used to take flowers after my surgeries, but she's gone now, too.

My wifes dad passed in 1999.I remember going with her to make the funeral arrangments and when undertaker was showing us the coffins i felt like i was in a used car lot.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
God Set Eternity in the Heart of Man
11 He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.

Speaking to the Sadducees, who did not believe in the resurrection, Jesus said: “As regards the resurrection of the dead, did you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob’? He is the God, not of the dead, but of the living.”

Note that Isaac,Jacob and Abraham were already dead when Jesus spoke. But they would live again in Gods memory and be resurrected thats whyGod spoke of being a God of the living.

I want to be cremated.  My father and all of his siblings except for one was cremated to it was kind of the norm for that side of the family.  When I was watching 4th of July fireworks I had a thought.  Wouldn't it be cool to have my ashes put in fireworks and have it blasted in the sky?  I wonder if there is a company that does that.  Because I really don't care what happens to my ashes.

My mom pre-planned everything. She didn't care what happened to her after cremation but her one sister cried it wasn't fair that she wouldn't get to do proper mourning if mom wasn't buried.  She never came to the service, which really made me furious. Mom paid $16.50 a month (back in the '90s) so I wouldn't have the hassle with family. There was no cost to me in 2000. I don't know if that would be the case today. Things change.  Being 1 of 8, she knew what happens when someone dies -sibling and parents. Nothing but fights over their property.

I have no siblings but 3 of her sisters and 1 brother were still alive.  I want to pre-plan but I can't seem to contact the funeral home. Left a message months ago and still didn't get back to me. Anyway, I have a problem with hubby because he refuses to think about it or make a will. Everything is in his name and I keep telling him how much of a mess he'll be leaving me. So I do hope I'll be going first to avoid that mess. >:(

Why do you need a company? Just get a few rockets and glue a few ashes on each one before you shoot them off. If rockets are illegal where you live (like Oregon), have someone do it in a State where it is legal (like Washington). We like to go up to Long Beach, Washington on the 4th to watch all the crazies on the beach shooting off stuff that would be illegal at home (but actually they do it at home anyway). They must spend a fortune.
