Want to hook up a keyboard to the laptop
« on: June 19, 2018, 01:23:43 pm »
Knew i had some keyboards handy and i absolutely love my MS400 ergonomic. I have a brand new one I never used but the space bar is stuck in the down position. Does anyone know how to fix it?  I would love to use the new one. I guess I could use the older one that I took the keys off to put on the one I'm using now because that one worked (I think).

I have another one that was used, but I don't remember why I stopped using it. I also have 2 Dell's that came with computers. Don't care for them because the keys are too close together. One is brand new.

I guess you could say I'm  a keybaord collector 'cuase I also found some old tan "clicky" keyboards that made a clicking noise when you hit the keys. I think they were called PS2? Would they be "valuable" to anyone? LOL

Anyway, can I fix the brand new 400 space bar and how? Thanks!

:monkey:  :)  :monkey: I'm not sure how you could fix this by yourself.  ??? I would suggest take it to a computer place and see if they can help you get this issue fixed for you.  ???  :monkey:  :)  :monkey:

Probably not. I have had that happen with other keys and it is the spring type thing below the actual space bar that is jacked up. You may be able to replace it but it would most likely be easier to just buy a new keyboard.

I loved those old tan "clicky" keyboards :)

Me too until I got the bane of all MTs, carpal tunnel syndrome.   I had to find something better and the MS 400 almost did the job.I paid a fortune for another board that worked like a court reporter's transcription machine but could never figure out how to set it up (sometimes I'm dense). :)  I should have sold the 'clicky' ones way back then but held onto them for some reason.

I checked the other Ergo 400 and it went nuts with wrong letters, weird so I tried exchanging spacebars. Didn't work. Same thing happened. So I hooked up one of the Dells. Boy is that ever hard to get used to with the closeness of the keys and flat board. I think I need to go to ebay and see if they still sell the 400. :D

When I first saw this topic, I thought you were inquiring about hooking up a piano keyboard to your laptop.  :-\  I have experience with that.  But I guess I can't help you with this keyboard problem.
