it seems that the cell phone companies only want to give the good deals to new customers... so much for loyalty to their customers that have been with them for years.

I have Verizon and can say that I don't like their new way of upgrading verses the old way. BUT, their service and way better than Sprint any day! I work for a company that deals with Sprint customers and they are always upset with how many dropped calls and they never have service due to the cell towers. Horrible experience just chatting with these poor people. Thank goodness I never switched to them! lol

Back in 2010 (I think) my family got two cell phones (flip phones) from Verizon.  We are still paying the ultra-low rate of $100 dollars per year ($8.33 per month) for each of those phones.  When we moved, we got rid of our affordable Verizon landline phone and realized we needed a third cell phone.  It is an android smartphone with a bill of $480 dollars per year ($40 per month).  We are happy about the two cheap phones but we really really wish someone had warned us that cell service would cost 4 times more in the future.  We would have gotten three cell phones back in 2010.

I thought about getting a Consumer Cellular phone for only $15/month, and maybe I will. Freedom Pop offers FREE cell service but there is no slot for its SIM cards on this Verizon smartphone, and the number of calls/texts that you can make each month is very low.

When our local  cell phone company sold out to AT&T we went  with Verizon as they had opened  a store here and we could just go into the store  with questions and they promised  more towers in our rural part of the country. Well that did not happen and they closed up the store after they got all the customers they could, so our service is really spotty. There are some area that  we can drive 120 miles without any service.  We are going to be getting some different phones and service. My phones are paid off and  there is no contract. Just have to start checking out the  ones we like.  AT&T does not have an office close the closest one is 120 miles away. What a bummer.

I have never had a problem with Verizon. I get service here and when I travel. I understand why you are upset but have never heard of the deal you received in the past.  good luck. :rainbow: :peace:
