seeing every twitter of people attacking a personal friend of mine for leaving a colts game really was annoying me. along with the hateful comments made about him. I've known this man since I was literally knee high to a grasshopper well since 9 years old at a art museum. I realize him being our vice president opens that up but still it was annoying me to see that. the hatefulness of someone these people don't know.  I stick with my survey panels

I can understand that.  There is so much hate on social media and unfortunately that is just the beginning of the stupidity you see on there.  And it is everywhere on social media.  I deleted mine a while back because of the foolishness and now I am on there for business and that's the only reason I am on there.

I think about leaving it myself sometimes. I try to keep everything as neutral as I can and I try to only be friends with people who are interested in the same things that I am.

I try to stay away from social media as much as possible. There's too many negatives about it in my opinion.

I been left social media 10 years ago, I only get on there for surveys, other than that I don't, people put their personal business on there and its just a lot of drama, People keep your personal business to yourselves, keep it out of the streets of social media, people will talk about you behind your back and laugh at you for putting something that should be kept in your home, you make a fool out of yourselves. Keep your lives private, and your comments to yourself.

I look at it another way. Yes there IS too much personal drama and politics on social media, but I simply choose to ignore that/abstain from commenting and dig into the stuff that actually interests me.  I have many friends on social media who have political views quite different from my own and they use FB as a political soapbox. That doesn't make them any less of a friend to me. I am still interested in seeing and hearing their non-political ideas and family photos, etc. I don't get into debates, and just refrain from commenting on the political stuff.  If I removed social media from my life because of all the negative comments that I disagree with, I would miss out on all of the good parts of it as well.


As to the OP, this analysis might not be as easy if all of Twitter was unfairly bashing a personal friend of mine, I'll grant you that.
