Hurricane Harvey
« on: September 06, 2017, 01:50:27 pm »
Hurricane Harvey has come and gone in Texas but the destruction will take years for people to get over.  We have a daughter that lives south of Beaumont and thankfully their house did not get flooded but so many of their friends' homes did.  Her entire family has been working every day trying to help those less fortunate.  First, by using their boats to help rescue in their town and the surrounding areas.  Then, by transporting people to helicopters to be flown out to Dallas and other locations.  She has kept us updated and we are so proud of all they have done and are continuing to do on a daily basis.  It will be at least another week before they can all return to school and work.  In the meantime they are still helping whoever needs it and takes people to places that are preparing hot meals.

It is heartbreaking what people are going through & how much some have lost.

We are dealing with 6 family members evacuating from Florida to wait out Hurricane Irma.

Harvey was awful, we will see with Irma, not looking good.

Patty4me,  you have every right to proud of your daughter and family, they are hero's at times like this. So many are  doing the  worst they can in looting and such. So many have  shown  the true American spirit in helping others. I feel bad for all of the families  in Houston and  other cities who caught  Harvey and now here comes Irma not to be beat out in destruction by Harvey, I pray they have all the help they can get also.

My heart goes out to the people of Texas. I pray things will get better soon. everyone don't forget to donate whatever you can't to the red Cross and disaster relief efforts to help the people of Harvey and Irma
