Lineman Appreciation

I keep hearing people complain in my area about not enough being done to get everyone's electrical power back on after Irma.  I am sick of hearing the complaining.  I was out several days and then out again for a part of a night.  I use a sleep apnea machine so no it isn't fun but people need to have some appreciation for what these people do....they leave home for hours/days on end and work under crappy nasty dangerous conditions.  Well I for one appreciate what they do for folks.

I agree with youn100%.  A few years ago we had a major ice storm that knocked power out in our city foe several days.  We were out for 5 days.  These guys worked night and day to get power on on all homes, business, and traffic lights.  Sure it was hard, we had no lights, heat, or water ( we have a well), but we didn't complain these men worked their butts off and they deserved our gratitude.

I agree with you. Always looking at the positive side of things. We need more people like you in this world and this day and age. However hopefully you can get your power back on so you can use your machine again. Have a good day!

I learned the next best thing to having my CPAP is sleeping in a recliner. Try it.

They are doing the best they can do.  People from all over the country are down there trying to help and doing the best they can do.  If you need a sleep apnea machine to breathe then perhaps you should look in to a generator.  Same with others who have issues like that or are on oxygen.  This is a natural disaster and  screaming and cursing is not going to make things get fixed any quicker.  I know people from MY home town from our electric company are down there as well as from surrounding counties.  I live a few states away.

Funny this is not that many years ago people lived in houses with no water, no bathrooms, no electric, and they lived just fine.  People are spoiled these days.  Yeah it might not be fun to sit in a dark house without your tv or phone but at least you have a house.

Yes, I appreciate them as well. That's certainly a hard job working under tough circumstances. Thankfully we didn't lose power, but I feel bad for those that did!
