Tip and Tricks when Buying a Car
« on: August 15, 2017, 11:38:15 am »
Often times when I post content I try to offer information.  This time I'm asking for information.  I know....I can Google my question and find the information.  I want this thread to be FusionCash members who have suggestions and advice for people who are ready to buy a vehicle.

It's one thing to buy from a private seller and a completely different ball game when buying from a dealer.

I want a reliable car.

Any advice or suggestions?
Have a great day!

I usually go to a dealer that has certified used cars. They have been inspected and have a vehicle history done on them.  I've never purchased from a private seller.

If buying used bring a car hound friend you know.  My husband knows cars so that makes it easy for me.  They know what question to ask... and when the seller isn't honest a good "in the car know" guy/gal can tell by wear and tear on a car just how up to date maintenance has been from the cars start.  If I didn't have my husband around I'd be going to a dealer.  I'd be prepared to attempt to haggle, prepared to leave.... and also prepared to be spending more.

There is another route if you don't want to haggle at all. Try looking at car rental places like Enterprise. Some places sell the rentals that they have. They are usually 2-3 year old cars as they quickly turn over their fleet. I know Enterprise offers this service.

Be aware, if it's a newer car you can request a CarFax report to see if it has had any major damage. I prefer to buy from a friend or relative that has taken care of it.

I prefer to lease a new one since my miles are always pretty low
