Leasing is for people with a lot of disposable income and a taste for luxury.

I usually keep my car for up to 12 years and usually 280,000 miles so I can't lease a car. So far I have had a lot of luck with toyotas.

It depends, if you don't travel a lot and use up a lot of miles then it would benefit you. Not like me, I commute and have a lot of highway miles. I would owe them millions! lol ... when I retire I think I will go the leasing route. For now I am still paying off my truck and will be finished in about 2 years! :D

Leasing for me would never be an option. I drive way too much and I would be way over on my mileage allowance. Plus,  we take a lot of day trips to the mountains and long weekends out of town so it would just not be practical. It's a cheaper payment, but really only for people that don't drive much.

I'm a buyer, not a leaser.  I get the impression that there are a lot of rules and requirements to leasing.  I can't live that way.

Never lease a car before so I think I like purchasing, but maybe on my next purchase I will ask about leasing.

If you run your own business or work as a sub contractor, realtor, etc, yo should lease as it is tax deductible.  You are still responsible for maintenance.

It's also deductible if you purchase it as well. No tax advantage to leasing.

I have done both, but I really regret the car I leased many years ago. When you lease they tell you how many miles you can put on the vehicle, and then you have to give it back after paying a lot of money for the vehicle. But the payments are lower. That is sometimes a plus. I still would never do it again. I had to pay for over mileage for 90 miles over the lease. I really like to know I own it and can do what I choose and keep it as long as I want too.
