I'm so bummed out today
« on: April 19, 2017, 10:55:23 am »
Another birthday for my son. He has this habit of having a birthday and getting older every year and that's not good because it makes me feel older, too. He was born in 1969. Do the math!!!  :sad1:

No one is any age.  We are all eternal.

If your son was born in 1969, you might be in your 70's I guess, and that's not so bad.  You're only as old as you think and feel.

I know right lol?  I had my children older than some folks 26 for the first and 33 the 2nd......so it always seemed like I was young because I had babies but it is way past fooling anyone now cause I am 64. Oh well at least we are still up and kicking right ? I hope your son has a great birthday.

Better than the alternative.  Age is just a number.  I read a story in Reader's Digest last night where a woman had a son and he had a feeding tube in.  Somehow it came out partially and they did not know and the nutrition was going in the wrong place.  So the surgeon tells her I can do the surgery and fix this but he is going to go in to a deep coma and he will not come out of it.  OR you can just let him go.  She chose to let him die.  Which in my opinion was the right thing to do.  It took him 3 days to die.  He already had major brain damage from a car accident 2 years earlier that was not his fault.

I think it was last months edition.  You can probably find it and read it.

So your kid having birthdays or you having birthdays - that is not a bad thing.  Getting older is not a bad thing.  The alternative is you are dead  : (

I had my first child in 1969.  She keeps getting older too.

I told my younger grand-daughter her last b'day when she turned 16 that I was going to start going backwards, getting younger every year as she aged.

Told her I would meet her in the middle, and then she would start to be older than me :)

I kinda hoped it would happen :)

Nah, I accept it. Someday, my young grand-daughter will remember us laughing over that.
