Xmas cards
« on: December 30, 2016, 01:57:04 pm »
Did you receive a lot of xmas cards this year. I finally started sending them out again and I  received several at work from co-workers and several from family members. It is nice to let someone know you are thinking about them.

We got a bunch of cards. Fifty percent of them appeared to be nothing more than obligatory: signed "The Blah-blah family".  I kind of wonder why they bother if they are not going to include a personal message about what transpired in their lives during 2016. This is okay if it includes pictures of the family because I always like to see how people are progressing. Others sent a full page detailing what each member of the family accomplished during the year which, although generically sent out to everyone on the list, allowed us to catch up on what was new in their lives. My parents were somewhat put out by receiving 'too many' Christmas cards but changed their tune when I pointed out that they had a lot of people that cared about them.

We don't send out Christmas cards. For me it's more of an environmental concern. I prefer e-cards, or just commenting or messaging someone via social media like Facebook to wish them happy holidays.  :) :snowman:

I didn't get any this year. My friend who lives out of town sent me a card, but I haven't gotten it. She's starting to get concerned because she sent it before Christmas.

The proper way to say Christmas is Christmas not with an X 8)  Maybe someone should send you an Xday card on YOUR birthday, how would that be.  Yeah I know you are not the only one that does it but your posts always stand out because they are so lame. 8)

I have been really bad about Christmas cards the last few year.  Christmas just sneaks up on me too fast.

I received a few Christmas cards in the mail; however, I don't expect to get any because I haven't been sending them out.  It's so very easy to wish people a "Merry Christmas" on social media sites so sending out card where I would pay for postage seems like an outdated concept.

Have a great day!

This year we barely got any cards. Then we learned that our town's postal service had a lot of corrupt and inept workers who basically stole or didn't deliver anything. People were not receiving their cards or packages for weeks even though the tracking said it arrived.

I used to have a Christmas card list and would regularly send them out to about 20-30 people depending on what was happening in my life at the time.  However, the cards I received each year decreased and decreased.  About 10 years ago I scratched off a bunch of people and now I only send about 3-4 each year.  I don't plan on increasing in the near future, if ever.  Oh, well!!!!

WE GET A LOT VIA EMAIL.  I send some out with gifts to the little people in our lives.  I love getting the ones with pictures of the family in the last year.
