What Current Musicians Do You Think Will Stand the Test of Time?

What individual artists or bands do you think will stand the test of time?
Which currently popular musicians do you think will be soon forgotten?

I honestly can't think of anyone in particular by name but I think that any artist who can really sing and play an instrument has a good chance of lasting success and hopefully good music

One Artist I think will be around for decades is Adele. Her music appeals to many generations right now, my kids are 10 and 12 and they love her music, I am in my late forties and I think she's fantastic. Plus her music is somewhat classic. I mean it is no more or less in fashion now than it will be in twenty years, nor twenty years ago. She is totally unique in her style and she is, and always has been, at the top of her game. Other Artists will be gone in 5 years or so, probably because they got burnt out or turned to drugs.

That is a good question, but i can't think of anyone that is going to stand the test of time

Maybe Elvis, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, the Beatles.

I think Justin Timberlake may just due to the length of time that he's been performing. Christina Aguilera for her strong vocal skills. Maybe Lady Gaga for her fashion sense (or lack thereof) and other controversies (similar to Madonna). And I definitely agree that Adele will last.

I also think there are some songs that will last the test of time although the artist may actually fade away: Miley Cyrus' The Climb and Green Day's Good Riddance (The Time of Your Life) for example.

I think there are some songs that will last a lifetime. I don't know about the artist though since we all go through the aging process. There are some legends out there that are still going strong like Stevie Wonder or Kenny rogers, Tim McGraw, Lionel Richie, John Legend, etc.

Justin Bieber will be around annoying us forever.  I also think Miley's on her way out, she pretty much sickens everyone these days.  Carrie Underwood's talent, I can see lasting a long time.  Kanye West & Taylor Swift, I think are "has been's".

I think Bruno Mars will be around a long time. He is very popular and only has 2 albums out, his 3rd is coming up.

Great question - not sure there are too many iconic musicians out there right now. If I had to choose I would probably go with a Keith Urban or Kenny Chesney.

I can't think of many. Not a lot have true talent these days--the talent where you write all your own material and can actually play an instrument or sing without autotune. Hopefully Justin Bieber will just be an embarrassment. I think the most likely is Lady Gaga. Not a lot of originality or diversity anymore. I'm loyal to my most favorite bands (a lot of which are from the 80s and 90s!) and don't see much that piques my interest anymore---except Melanie Martinez.
