Shopping After Christmas
« on: January 01, 2017, 01:13:32 am »
What kind of shopping do you do after Christmas?

Do you pick up holiday stuff that's marked down?

I don't usually buy a lot but this year I decided to buy some custom made christmas tree ornament with photos of my children on them.  I bought them at a discounted price because I ordered them after Christmas.  I like having sentimental ornaments on my funky little tree.

I also bought some silk mistletoe and I plan to hang it up and leave it up all year long.  My strategy is to attract more kisses.

Have a great day!

I don't tend to do much shopping after Christmas. sometimes I find gift bags on sale but that's about it. :rainbow: :peace:

When I shop, it's usually clothes that I need that I can get for cheap. Like shirts, pants, shoes. I don't stock up on Christmas stuff because I don't go all out and I'm happy with what I have. But I really want to work on buying stuff I need for the summer, for work.

Usually the only things I buy after Christmas are one or two things that are seasonal and I would never pay the full price for them.  Also, occasionally, if there is a really good sale, I might pick up something I need badly.  For example, white sales are prevalent after Christmas, and if I need sheets, blankets, or towels, I might buy several of these.

I don't do much after Christmas shopping purely due to a lack of funds after the holidays.   I do look into holiday decorations with big markdowns and sometimes am able to pick up a couple of things I really want.   I love the idea of silk mistletoe hanging all year to attract more kisses.  More kisses are always a good thing.

Only after Christmas shopping I usually do it looking at the Candy making stuff and also for Christmas bags and boxes. I rarely get Christmas paper or anything else. If I find something, I will get it. This year, I did find some candied citron and candied orange peel for 59 cents each at one of the local stores and got it. Then make for good decorations and in baked goods.

Sometimes I get something that is after Christmas at half price.  I did not buy much of anything this year.  I don't need any decorations and have enough cards and paper to last me the rest of my life.

For me December 26th is like the day after every major holiday: CHOCOLATE & CANDY. So the Christmas bag of M&M's are $3.99, but on the 26th they are $1.40, grab 'em. The 27th they're $1 stock up as much as I can. The 28th 50 cents or less, clear the shelf. It's my favorite part of the holidays and I save to splurge on these great after deals. Why pay $1.79 per single pack at register when I can get them this cheap just because of a holiday color or logo. So Halloween and Christmas shopping? The day after is when I make my move!  :bootyshake:
