New Sonic Drive-In
« on: October 31, 2009, 09:51:20 am »
Sonic opened a new place in my city. I never dined at Sonic. If you have, what is it like? The food and beverages? The workers and boss? The atmosphere and people? Does the place look/feel modern or retro? What is your experience?

We had a bunch when I lived in Tucson. Good food. It was a drive up and they bring the food to the car on Rollerblades. The people seemed nice. Mostly younger. The drinks and shakes were great. When it was 114 outside I'd find one just to cool off with a cherry lemonade.

There is a Sonic in our city that was built not too long ago and I still have yet to try their food but it looks like your typical fast food/soft ferve type of snacks.  But worth a try.

I wish we had a Sonic in our city, but alas we do not.  I simply love their food.

I love their route 44 cherry limeades and in our town they have happy hour were all their drinks are half priced, (you will have to check to see if they do in your town and what times). I dont much care for their food but my husband and children love their tater tots and onion rings.

there is a sonic that's been in my hometown
for as long as i can remember, and usually the
car hop girls are on rollerskates, which is a cute
touch.

they're a bit overpriced for fast food, but they
have great chicken wraps! much bigger &better
than wendy's, mcdonalds, etc.  their beverages
are really customizable - they have a list of flavors
you can add to any soda, along with LOTS of
unique shakes/floats/slushies...

i think they've tried to make the place look
somewhat retro with the pull up menus and such,
and even though its brightly lit with neat shapes,
i think they missed the mark on a true nostalgic feel.
its unique compared to other fast food restaurants
as far as looks go, but it still seems a bit "assembly line"
to me.

but i like to eat there when i'm tired of the same
old thing and want a different flavor

There are many Sonics out here. The kids love them, but I'm not too crazy for their food. We do go their almost daily for drinks.

I know they try to be retro, but ours here have all been modernized. I like their food, though. And the endless drink combinations are awesome.

I have been to sonic for many years, we really used to enjoy their burgers, One thing they make really good are there Ched'R peppers, if you like spicy food, and their onion rings are also pretty good. It is a good environment to eat at, and you don't have to get out of your car and you can park and eat. good icecream too.
