Used to eat a lot of clams but not anymore. Dipping in the butter causes stomach problems and most clams are too expensive and sandy anymore plus tough, at least the white shelled ones.
As a kid, my parents and I would go to a restaurant (long, long time ago) and dad and I would order clams by the hundreds. They were $1 a dozen back then.
I also love fried oysters, oyster stew, clam chowder, etc. Haven't had any of that in years.
