X-Box Remote Control from Target
« on: June 20, 2016, 10:23:05 am »
My sons bought a new x-box controller from Target this week and were very surprised to open it at home when they realized it was not only broken but it was a used one. It came in a brand new packaging too. My wife called the manager after waiting for almost 15 20 minutes he finally answered. He was very sorry and wanted to give her a $20.00 gift certificate for it because they didn't have any more in stock. Has anyone ever experienced this with target before or any other store?

Was it sealed?     Some one at home depot was telling me that they often get people who replace their worn out old product with a new product & then bring back the old one in it's place.    I have heard that this occurs often at Walmart returns, I was reading stories on Reddit & people even have sealing machines to make it look legit.

I was purchasing a nozzle from Home Depot that I didn't inspect thoroughly & the cashier caught it when I was checking out, that it looked jacked up to him, used,  he said it happens all the time, some people just come in, switch it out on their own & walk out with out ever going to customer service &/or an employee.

Wow, the world is ever changing for the worst. Thanks for the update. From now on, I am going to be extra alert when going out buying anything from the store.

I never been in a target store for so long. The last thing I remember from buying anything electronic from a target store was a cd (for backup)... I wouldnt be surprised if some stores sell used/damage electronics and sell it off as new... Similar situation in walmart for me... I remember my father bought a vacuum cleaner at Walmart, used that thing for 2 months or so. Went back to the return services in walmart due to loss of suction and got a full refund.. Next day we went shopping in that walmart we saw that the vacuum cleaner that we returned was back on the selves. I knew from that moment, I would never buy any electronic from Walmart. At this point the only place I trust buying electronics from is either Amazon, Newegg, and he manufacturing store.

No, never experienced anything like that with any store in particular, but I'm happy you were reimbursed.

I only took something back to Target once. It was a garden solar light which I could not get to work, even after charging it properly. The guy at the counter did not even question me on why I was returning it. He just credited my credit card immediately.
