Should I buy a new car or look at leasing?
« on: April 01, 2016, 07:39:58 am »

There are a lot of considerations that go into buying or leasing a new car. My wife and daughter have each done both with pros and cons.

I am just conducting an experiment here and I hope it is not against the rules.  If this isn't permitted, admin please lock or delete this thread.  I really have no interest in getting a new car at present, so I am not really looking for opinions on the subject/topic question -- although it can be an interesting debate.

I have noticed many times that it SEEMS like some Fusion Cashers reply to the topic of a thread without even reading the comments that are already posted there.  Sometimes another member posts an informative response and others comment on or quote the responses, so I know that there are a lot of people actually taking the time to read what is written, but I just want to see what responses this topic gets.  Almost like the "trick" question that the surveys toss in just to see if you are paying attention.

If you are really paying attention, rather than give your opinion on buying or leasing a car, maybe instead talk about the best April Fools Day Joke ever played on you or that you played on someone else.  I will come back later and comment on my favorite joke falling into that category.

Just what we need. Another attention check. Thanks very much.  ::)

I thoroughly detest most practical jokes, so April Fool's Day scares the bejeebers out of me. It's also the day I lost my last job. So that didn't help my opinion of it.  :-X

It's an interesting premise, though. Hope you find out what it is you were checking on us poor FCers.
;)

Okay, so this "little experiment" was a complete and total bust!  But I suppose I will go ahead and follow up on my earlier comment and discuss my favorite April Fools Day joke.

We had a daughter born in the fall of 2006, and her big sister was 15 years old at the time.  For April Fools Day 2009, older daughter was at work and baby daughter was at home doing what babies do best : POOPING!  So I concocted a scheme to gross out big sister when she got home from work (I had to go and pick her up and drive her home).  I talked wife into making sure the little one was in her room on the changing table when we got home and my wife made it clear when we came in the door that she was changing a diaper and needed my help because it was an especially messy one.  I went in and retrieved a pre-planted diaper and commented on how good it smelled.  I then walked out with the overflowing diaper, lifted it to my face to smell it and buried my face in it right in front of big sister and got a messy full mouth full of its contents (which was actually a mixture of chocolate pudding and crumbled up lemon sandwich cookies).

Maybe not a complete bust yet, but I agree with what you said about people not reading here. They just want the dime, but I come here for entertainment and I was just entertained.

It reminds me of my high school days when we were cruising town one April Fools day and one of my buddies asked to stop at the gas station so he could make a deposit. The rest of us stayed in the car until he came out with one of those Texas T-Shirts around his neck and an O'Henry candy bar sticking out of his mouth and said, "I Slipped".

The girls were really grossed out for a minute!

Just to say that most people I'm around don't do practical jokes/ April Fool's, don't know why but they don't! Either I'm lucky not to have a good story or not!

If you are trying to get your Fusioncash Banner to show.make sure you don't update your profile after you pick the color. I had the same problem.

Hello to Uget paid and to everyone else out there in Fusion Cash World:

There is a story about how "April's fool's day" got started.  It has something to do with a king wanting to play jokes on his subjects or something like that if I remember correctly.

Anyways,  a while back my husband Mario and I were renting out a room to a young man named Cory who always paid us his rent on time.  Thank you Jesus!  And anyways, it just happened to be April 1 of some year I can't remember the year, but anyways,........I had carefully thought out my "April 1" joke that I was going to play on this young man so I went up to him and looked at him very sadly and seriously and said, "Cory, I'm afraid, I have to tell you this, but we're going to have to raise your rent."

The man looked at me and said very calmly, "Susie, I don't like telling you this, but I don't have my rent!"

When he responded to me this way, I stayed calm on the outside, but on the inside, I was saying to myself, "Oh no!"
"God, let this not be true!  Oh sweet, Jesus!"

So, I answered, "Cory, look I'm sorry, but you still need to pay us your rent......and..

It was then that Cory started laughing and said,  "April fool's "  and then he , of course, paid me his rent.

So, the joke ended up being on me and not him!..

I would never lease.  If you buy it then in 3 to 5 years it is yours.  If you lease you are basically renting it.  And if you put too many miles on it then you are charged extra.

I wouldn't lease unless I had no other option.

Leasing is one more option and if it fits your life, it can be an excellent method of paying for your vehicle, you just need to understand it and do the math. Dealers have sales on leases that can be better than other methods. You can also get trouble free convenience as a benefit, that suits many busy people who get a new car every few years anyway.

I say research our fusioncash blogger history, and who did blogged a trick-a-thug that day, you decide for your self, hilarious pranksters that day giggles and chuckles...and remember this rule: what happened that day...stays that day.
