now that you all taught me how referrals work on different sites

I was wondering if anyone knew some good legitimate ad-rotating sites to pay to give me say, 1000 views for a decent price so I could advertise the sites I currently use to get referrals. I'd rather pay a little than use Twitter to tweet out links.. no one pays attention to those... I'm willing to pay for advertising of my own personal website to a legit company that will ensure my website does get views and it seems like the pay-off of just getting 5 referrals out of say those 1000 views would be profitable.

People have told me to try Clixsense, and I am a member, although their offers are lame and I only see money coming in by using their advertising services...

I know for a fact you can pay them to advertise your website and they force the window to stay open so people don't just click and move on to another site.

I am really interested in turning profits and perhaps one day just quit my job... That's a long, long-term goal and I don't expect it to happen fast.

Anyone know any good companies for that advertising? I know that there has to be some legitimate sites to advertise for referrals!
