Taxes

Do you prepare or get your taxes prepared before the month of April  or closer to April 15th? I use to wait until the week before, but now I get them prepared early February.

Hopefully early as possible. I am hoping to find a good place cheap to get them done.

Always last minute in April near the deadline. Not sure why but taxes just never on my top priority list.

I have always prepared my own taxes.  Why pay someone to do something where as it would be easy to do unless you are Tech Challenges and is afraid of computers, laptops.

I have gotten extensions several years, but plan to get them done before the deadline this year.

A lot of people have no business trying to do their own tax returns. Missing out on a lot of money.

It's all about perspective.  Back in the days when we had refunds coming to us, our taxes were usually done and filed the day after we got the last of our W-2s for the year -- as close to the beginning of the year as possible to get that refund as soon as possible.  I now work on a contractor basis and do not have taxes withheld from my pay so these days we have to pay Uncle Sam come tax time rather than get a refund.  So now it is usually pushing right up next to April 15th before we file!

I do my own taxes. I do them as soon as I get my W-2s, etc. It's highway robbery to use someone to prepare your taxes, in my opinion.  :bunny:

I can't believe people pay twice; once to tax preparer and once to IRS.  :monkey:
