One of my coworkers was in a bad relationship and cane to work with bruises.  Of course she said she fell, bumped into a wall, etc. even though we knew that was not true.  my husband has never or even came close to hitting me, no matter what.  I can honestly say if he ever hit me that would be the first and last time he would do that.  I married a man so I could be his wife, not his punching bag.  There would be no excuse, I would be history.

All you can do it talk to them.  If they refuse to listen there there isn't anything you can do.  I am curious as to how you know this person is beat and in front of the kids.  If a woman does not want to get out of a bad relationship then that is her choice.  Apparently some women like being hit and abused.

Nancy, How to you KNOW she didn't fall?  I know a woman who fell going up some steps and hit her face on the steps.  She bad 2 black eyes and her whole face was black and blue.  She could barely walk.  I am sure there were people who "thought" her husband beat her up.  I also remember a few years ago I had stitches in my chin.  I was standing in line at the bank and some jerk just started talking to me and telling me how I didn't need to let my boyfriend hit me.  Well stupid butt nobody hit me.  I fell.

People are quick to judge and assume that if someone has a bruise that they were hit.  I also have a friend who has had so many broken bones, bruises, and injuries it is unreal.  Yep, her husband has been accused of hitting her.  But no he doesn't.  She is clumsy.  She just is.

I put up with abuse for 9 yrs from my kids father, when I turned 24 yrs old I left and never went back, I never had another bad relationship or allowed anyone to hit me again.
