Did anyone watch this competition? It's crazy how difficult these words are!

I didn't watch it but I caught the recap. Wow! I agree, these words are difficult. It's exciting to see such amazing talents.

This year there were double winners (for the third straight year). Nihar Janga, 11, correctly spelled the word "gesellschaft" and Jairam Hathwar, 13, correctly spelled the word "Feldenkrais."

How do they end up with more than one winner? Are there only a certain number of rounds / words? I had thought they'd just go back and forth until one contestant finally missed a spelling.... I watched a spelling bee on TV once, but after awhile it just got to be too boring since most of those words I've never even heard of let alone know how to spell. Plus spelling was one of 2 subjects that I ever got lower than a C in school -- penmanship being the 2nd...

Didn't watch but saw the results on the news. Ended in a tie again.  These young people are all about the words.

They showed the little boy on the news that adjusted the microphone ~ he was the same little boy who spelled the big, long hard words on Steve Harvey's new show about gifted children.
