Mother's On Father's Day
« on: June 22, 2015, 08:41:01 am »
Does anyone else celebrate their mom on father's day?

I usually celebrate my grandmother.. because she was the role of my mother, and my father and there was basically no point in celebrating my mother or father.. seeing as they both dropped out of my life a long time ago...

Although not a common occurrence, I celebrated both Mother's Day and Father's Day on Sunday... I wasn't able to visit my parents on Mother's Day, so I never got the chance to give her anything until this past weekend when I went to visit them.

I also know one of my cousins that celebrates Father's Day with her step-dad instead of her "sperm donor". Since her biological father left the family early in her life, her step-dad has become her father figure.

Mothers should never be celebrated on Father's day. That day is for men only. Women already have a day that's just for them. A single mother taking care of her family is not a mom and dad, she is just a hardworking mother.

NO.  I would celebrate her on Mother's Day.

I usually celebrate with my mother for Mother's AND Father's Day. There is nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. Especially if the father was never/rarely in the child's life.

I celebrate my Father because it is his day.  Now if you do not know or if your father was never around or in your life, than celebrate your Mom on father's day.

The more celebrating the better!   If your mother is plays dual roles of both mother & father, why not celebrate her on both days...  make some happy memories and a days of fun :)

Of course! I absolutely agree that there are lots of mothers who take fathers roll in life and raise kids themselves. I know quite a few in my life and I always amazed how strong they are and never giving up. They deserve to be celebrated everyday!

A mother cannot be a "father" to a child.  Only a MAN can be a father.  I agree with a previous poster...if a woman is raising a child alone then she is just a hard working single mother.

Fathers are male parents, and mothers are female parents. Women cannot be fathers because they are not males.
