I would be a lot more scared to be a cop.  Countless people across the country trying to kill them and they can't protect themselves without it being called a hate crime.

Sure I get nervous when I pass by a police officer when driving, especially when they're behind me, but this is way before all the bad press they're getting now. I think my fears are general concerns of being pulled on the slightest of things (such as going an extra 5 miles mph than I should). I don't really feel threatened of being harmed otherwise.

How many is scared to be pulles over buy cops now smh so sad how there just killing people like its nothing dont get me wrong i dont feel people should run but at the same time i do feel people shouldn't. be shot down like an animal

Every time a cop has shot someone the person shot was doing something stupid like running or fighting them or pointed a gun at them first.  They don't just pull a car over and walk up to the driver door and shoot them like an animal.  All but one or two have been total thugs that pretty much deserved what they got.

Having said that, and probably made several of you mad, lol, yeah most people are going to be a little intimidated when they get pulled over by a cop. But if you are not doing anything wrong you probably are not going to get pulled over to start with.

I have no idea what you're referring to.  I don't watch the news or give energy to all the "bad" things they sensationalize.   :-X

I don't have a car right now, but I never liked being pulled over.  I only experienced such a thing a few times and I never feared for my life.  :-[

If you have no idea what the OP is referring to then why respond?  Just asking.  There have been several incidents where a cop shot a citizen in the news lately.  And by watching the news or knowing the things going on in the world around you that does not mean you are giving energy to the bad things.  Being dumb and totally in the dark about the world around you is not a good thing.  I have also never feared for my life but it has been over 10 years since I have been pulled over.

I was pulled over once when I was about 8 months pregnant and that cop was so rude to me that he made me cry!  He only pulled me over to question why I had a temp. dealer tag on my car.  I had actually just driven it home for lunch from our car lot.  He didn't like that I don't guess because he was really rude.

It is against the law for a regular person to drive around with a temp tag.  I know someone who tried that and she had the dealer tag on her car for several months.  So his pulling you over was not unjustified.  Does not mean he had to be hateful.

I have been pulled over for speeding more times than I like to remember.  I have always been polite and respectful. I admit to my wrong doing.  I have only had a less than desirable encounter twice and both times I had shown extremely bad judgement. I pay my fines immediately, I treat the police with respect and as how I would want to be treated, I don't lie about the situation, I do not have a criminal record, I don't steal, I don't resist arrest and I don't (generally) give the police a reason to pull me over.  If a police officer were to tell me to halt/stop and put my hands over my head I would do so. I would not flee from the police or come at them aggressively. The police are just trying to do their job (and a poorly paid one at that) and they are putting their lives in harm's way for the safety of the public. Their hours are horrible, they have the highest rate of divorce, the pay is low, they are risking their lives and putting up with instances of disrespect that you or I would not encounter on our jobs.  I think that you have nothing to be afraid of if you follow the rules.

I agree with most of them are just trying to do their job.  It's like my job - people get mad at me for things I have no control over or for questions I have to ask.  There is NO need to smart of to me.  I am doing my job so I can keep my house.  If I don't do the job the way they want me to I will be fired.

I have never heard it called a hate crime.  They are trained to shoot to kill.  So if you point a gun at them they are going to kill you.  Think of it like this -- they are Lucas McCain of the Rifleman and the citizen is a one eyed blind man with no prior gun experience.  In other words - you are going to loose.

I have always been leery of the cops. Even though it was only for speeding. I really dislike most cops. They can be so arrogant.
