Many Close Friends or one Best Friend?

I have one best friend that I consider my sister considering we've known each other 20+ years and we are both in our 20s and I have 2 best friends that are considered my best friends one of them I have been friends with for 10 years and the other 8 years and I'm the godmother for 3 of her kids.

I was thinking about this topic just the other day. I have one son who has many friends, but none that are his best friend, and then I have another son who has one best friend. Strangely I worry about them both. I worry about the one that does have a best friend, what if that best friend leaves the area. I worry that the son who has loads of friends but has no best friend, is he able to make a best friend. I guess, that's a mum's worry.

I don't really have any close friends. I am a home body and I prefer my own family(wife and kids) as my close friends. Anything outside that circle is considered someone that I know. My wife is by far my best friend of all!

I had one best friend but she moved out of state about five years ago.  We keep in touch some but not as much as we used to.  I have a few casual friends.

I don't have either, but if I had to choose I would say I would rather have many close friends because my best friends have always disappointed me.

I have a small group of close friends and a couple I would consider a best friend. I have been very busy as of late, so I'm not able to hang around with them as I use to, but I know I can count on them and vice versa.

Do you have a lot of closer friends that you consider your best friends or do you only have one really close friend/or two best friends?  I would say I fall into the many close friends and I really couldn't pick one out of the 5 really great ones I'm close to.  It can be a bit much every now and then as far as having a few I'm very close to.  Which do you have or prefer?  Is one great friend enough?  I definitely could see it for certain people!

My best friend moved out of state so it's harder to have a relationship but we keep in touch and I have a few very close friends but no one I could really say is a best friend...

I feel like a mix of the two is what I have/want. I have one best friends that I can always talk to anything about. Then I have a few close friends so I don't make myself exclusive
