What do you think
« on: March 04, 2015, 07:24:39 am »
...about talking to people who have to sit there or stand there with their eyes closed when they talk to you.
More specific if you went to a doctor (nurse practitioner) who done this?  This drives me insane.  I use to go to church with a girl who done this and I could not even stand to talk to her.  Then a few months ago I went to a NP who done this.  At least 90% of the exam she had her eyes closed.  Good thing is was mostly talking huh.  Anyway, would you go back to someone like this or go to someone else?

I also know somewhere I use to work they were taking applications and a woman came in to interview for an assistant manager and the manager said she sat there with her eyes closed thru most of the interview.  Everytime she started talking she closed her eyes.  He ended the interview and she did not get the job.

I personally have never heard of anyone doing anything like this but, I guess it would bother me too so I'd be looking for a different doctor!!

That's odd.
The only reason I could come up with for doing that would be that they are really concentrating, listening to what's being said.

I think we live in a time when we can tell whether a person has their eyes closed or not if they are listening to us.

For the most part  today many are bad listeners.Still it seems strange if 1 has their eyes closed as they chat with you.

Its your call.If you think they are listening even tho their eyes are closed go with it.Maybe you can even muster up enuff courage and ask them why.

That would make me really uncomfortable.  I would start looking for another doctor.  I think that is kind of weird.

that would be a lil weird but i guess to each their own --maybe its their way to block out everything else around and focus just on you ???

Sounds like people who have a social disorder.  They obviously aren't able to make eye contact when communicating and closing their eyes when they talk....

takes it all to a whole new level.  I wonder if there's a name for that or if it's part of a disability.

I decided to search and I learned that people who close their eyes while talking are choosing their words carefully.
