cost of making a movie

I heard actress  Emma Thompson talking on a panel of discussion about wanting to make a movie. I don't know where it starts [with a producer or director], but she was told her particular idea, her movie, would cost 41 million dollars and could not be done.

That is a lot of money but making a movie can be expensive. I can see it more than that.

It be worth it if they make it really good like the Up movie it was really good.

it is possible to make a movie for cheap or free you just have to think outside the box. As long as you have a great story, you wont need expensive special effects etc. look at blair witch, costed what 30k and made millions

Think you have to pay for all the people involved(actors, extras, cameramen, audio, editing, makeup, hair,etc), for locations, equipments, permits, marketing, etc

Think you have to pay for all the people involved(actors, extras, cameramen, audio, editing, makeup, hair,etc), for locations, equipments, permits, marketing, etc

 

not necessarily lol look into low budget film making. you can often find people who will work for free for their reels, or for credit in the movie etc. might not be the best movie ever made but can be done.
