Almost all commercials are BORING.  There is a new one I like, but I'll probably get bored with that one soon.  It is a T-Mobile commercial that is trying to get across the point you can do more than you think you can do, especially in exercising.  Some of the words are "Go you chicken fat, go away."  I think I just like the music.

I think part of the issue is due to all the over-advertising surrounding us, the general population is becoming desensitized to commercials making them less effective than they used to be.  That means companies are trying to advertise more to get their "point" across.

I almost think it may be better for a company to get good advertisement that catches people's attention, but rarely run it - some kind of effective teaser.  Run it enough to get people talking, but not so much that people get sick of it.  Then people will start looking for the commercial.

Having them run over and over tunes people out.  Consumer attention span is that of a gnat these days - if it isn't a "Oooo - Shiny!", it gets ignored.

I mostly ignore the commercials.  Even when I like one, it gets old after a few showings.  They repeat so often just trying to get the name into our minds.  But since I lost mine to bad for them.  LOL :silly:

Some commercials I don't mind.  I also multitask a lot so sometimes I appreciate the break to be able to get up and go do other things.

I don't mind most commercials themselves, what drives me nuts is during the commercial breaks they show about 10-15 of them in a row. I do crosswords during the commercial breaks.

If you do your TV watching via computer (internet) you can install blocking software that eliminates practically all of the ads. A few get through but it is a lot 'cleaner' than what you get on broadcast TV.

We feel the same way. Lately we watch very little TV for that reason. Instead we watch DVD's of old series. They have no commercials.

That's what I like to do most of the time is collect and watch box sets. I'm working on finishing Tales from the Crypt and then I'll have to start getting True Blood. For me though I can block out the commercials after a while. The only place where it can get irritating is watching videos on youtube. I spend a lot of time listening to songs I like, but haven't gotten yet, on there. Sometimes you just want to rock without a commercial :)
