I guess it would depend on what kind of job you're looking for. I see a lot of fast food restaurants and department store hiring.

Well guess it depends upon what type of job and what area of Florida.  I would assume but don't know that in the Orlando area the attractions would be hiring or would start soon since it is approaching summer.  I live in a smaller town in central florida and I don't work but I don't think jobs are very plentiful here. If you are thinking of a change I hope things work out for you.

I lived in Florida for one year-the Ormond Beach area near Daytona Beach.  Kind of went down for Spring Break and never went back.  I still keep in touch with friends down there and they said that both the construction and hospitality industries are doing great.  I  loved Florida but it was no place to bring up the kids that I eventually ended up having.  The school system lacks big time and the population is extremely transient. People get visions of oceans, warm weather and balmy breezes but if you have to work the heat makes it uncomfortable. Service was generally slower (could take up to seven minutes to get a Big Mac) and driving was generally a mess because so many retirees were down there driving extremely slow.

I live in Central Florida. There are always jobs available in the service industries especially around the attractions but they don't pay very well for entry level. Search online before you make the move. Most companies only hire from online applications. It also depends on what area you want to live in. Rent and food prices vary greatly depending on what area you want to live in.

My brother lives in Miami.  The cost of living there is very high.  There are entry jobs available in the hotel/restaurant business but they pay poor.

Florida is a big state. Where I live is 700 miles from Miami so how things are here would be much different than other parts of the state. More touristy places would be hiring more this time of year than other areas
