Teen reading

I have a teen who is doing more leisurely reading than she has ever done.  It is because of a series called the kingdom keepers.  I have begun reading them with her and I see why she enjoys them.  Do you know of any other great series that will keep her reading long after this series is over?

that is awesome.  it is hard to get teens to read these days!!!  However, no suggestions

I agree, it's hard to get a teenager to read, but I suggest anything that's been/being made into a movie. It's nice to be able to see a different side of the story when it's put on a movie screen.

When I was younger, I was CRAZY about A Series of Unfortunate Events. I never finished the last 2 books, though (I believe there's 13 in all). My mom liked them a lot too. Would she maybe be interested in The Hunger Games books?

The Alice Series by phyllis reynolds naylor were a favorite of mine. The series is long so she should probably start from when alice is in high school.

The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and no it is nothing like twilight or the movie adaptation of the book sigh

The mediator series and the princess diaries series by meg cabot.

Those should keep here busy for a while

A lot of teens like The Pretty Little Liars or The Vampire Diaries book series.

I took my teen sons to the bookstore they did not like anything.

Depending on the age of the teen, I highly recommend George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series (of which A Game of Thrones is the first novel). HBO's Game of Thrones series is based on these books. I think the books are very well written, telling the story through the eyes of various characters (each chapter is written from one of the character's POV). That being said, the material is much more adult oriented, so it'd probably only be appropriate for an older teen (eg 16+ years old).

For a younger teen, perhaps CS Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is the first book published in the series, although some fans have argued that it's better to read them in the series' chronological order in which case The Magician's Nephew would be the first). Although I didn't really enjoy the movies, when I was younger I thoroughly enjoyed reading those books.
