I think it is normal.  I knew a young lady who was a big fan of Taz the Tasmanian Devil.  There is something about "Hello Kitty" that draws people in.  People have this love for little things like that.

I'm 46 and I love the Hello Kitty merchandise I see in the shops. It kinda reminds me of "Miffy" I think her name was when I was young - it really makes me smile because it takes me right back to about 40 years ago in an instant. We used to look through the girlie shelves at our local store for Miffy stuff we could never afford but could always dream about. Some things you just don't forget.
