my computer is due for cleaning i keep putting it off because i don't have the money right now.

You know that (most of the time) "cleaning your computer" is just 'erasing a lot of the files.'

Yes, I suppose it's better to have 'maids & butlers to clean for you,' but not all of us are so-rich as you, Your Majesty

My computer always have something wrong with it.  I took it in to staples to have it fixed.  I paid this huge amount of money to have it repaired and I have been going back almost every week for them to fix what they have done in addition to the reason I brought it in.  I am really fed up with taking my laptop and never being fixed.

Mines last for about 5-6 years depending on the maintenance I put into it I always have back ups just in case proper Airflow in your computer can make it last for years.

I just sold a 2 year old netbook on eBay.  I like to get rid of my computers while they're still in great condition so I can justify buying something newer for myself.  I also like finding a deal on a computer while I still have one that I'm using.  That way I always have a computer even if one of them is refusing to cooperate.

desktops we have used for years and years.  they last pretty well when you keep them updated, cleaned out on the inside and free of viruses.  my son however tends to go through a new laptop every 2 years or so it seems *sigh*

i keep mine until it is shot..i do try at least once a year to restore it back to original..mine usually gets replaced when it gets struck by lightning.usually about every 6 years or so..
