Do you show your little dog more affection then the big dog. Also scold him not to do that and bring out a rolled up newspaper and smack it on your hand or article and let him know that the next time you will hit him. It works because I have retrained my friends dog and in three weeks he is showing respect to both my large dog and my son's small dog. In fact now they play together and have fun which makes me happy. And she is a female dog and my and my son's are male. You have to have a stern voice when you relay to your dog and have patience it will work but don't forget to hug him and tell him that you love him when he is behaving.

Maybe the bigger dog is just jealous of the little dog do you give him too much attention? Try spending time with the bigger dog letting them know you love them and you care for them. Dog also want attention just like humans do. Imagine if you even had a older sibling you would know how the neglect feeling is yeah? Just spend time with the big dog.

He probably feels jealous. Dogs like to feel that they have your entire attention. My dog will sometimes pick on the cat if I give him any attention.

Was the Bigger Dog there first?  Dogs can since fairness and can be jealous.  If the bigger dog was there first, be sure and feed it first.  Give it treats first and pet it at the same time your petting the smaller dog or while you have it in your lap.  Dogs personalities are a lot like those of small children, just in doggy bodies.  They have a keen sense of your emotions and if you show the smaller dog preference, the larger dog can sense this and will not be a happy camper!

I do have 2 dogs and the large one lives outside. The little one lives in the house and gets most all of the attention. I do take him into her yard when I feed her. They do get along . She is a monster compared to his toy Pom size and her Pyrenees size. However, she doesn't jump on him. I am glad they get along so well.

The bigger dog wants more attention so it going after the littler dog. So you got to show the bigger dog who the boss. You got to have it trained were it won't go after the littler dog.

I wouldn't mind betting you got your bigger dog first and your little dog second. He probably feels like he is being pushed out in favor of the newer dog. I think so long as you spend time with him, walking with him, playing with him he'll probably learn that he's not going anywhere. Also, you should make sure that you treat the dogs the same, they can sense if there is a "favorite" and then neither of them will respond at their best. They're like children aren't they!

Sometimes dogs just dont mesh well together.
I would be very careful--- they may seem fine and the next thing you know they are not.
