Yes, I still sew.  I enjoy it.  I have been doing a lot of quilting lately.
Have a wonderful day!

I love to sew! when my daughters were little, I used to make them there crib stuff, shoe and pamper stacker even something for the wall. Now I fix there stuff and make them skirt mostly. For Christmas they invited me and told me to bring my sewing machine. Guess what I was doing?  :o

I took sewing lessons for 4 years through Singer Sewing Machines, so I could make fancy stuff for my mom. Never got the hang of it because I always had a problem with measurements.

In high school, one part of Home Ec was to make a dress and then we had to wear it to school the next day. I was really proud of my shirtwaist dress ('60s) until I put it on. I had made the first mini-skirt! It was 3 inches about the knee and our dress code was below the knee or mid-knee. Well, I had to wear it or get an F so I put on fishnet stockings and the dress and went to school. I was promptly sent home after 1 hour by the principal....and that was the last time I sewed anything.  :-[

I rarely sew anymore, unless it is just repairing items.

I used to sew quite a bit when the kids were young.  T-shirts, shorts, dresses, curtains, aprons.....    quote

A serger sewing machine is easy to use.  Threading it is the hardest part.  If you have the manual, you should be able to manage that.  A serger cuts off extra seam allowance as it overcasts the seam allowance so it makes for a very nice edge.

I use to sew a lot more than I do now.  Things have changed so much - I have often wondered about a serger as well.  I don't have a family to sew for any more - they are all grown

My mom sews all the time. She makes potholders and sells them to different stores in our area and makes some for
friends too. :snowman:

Like the title stated,

Does anyone here sew?
Is it easy to use a serger?

Depends on the situation, but I am not good with either!

When my children were young I sewed all the time.  I made alot of our clothes, even made my son a sport coat, which was red for Christmas.  I made my girls and myself a long red dress.  That has been many years ago.  Hope everyone has a good week and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

No I have never sewed. I was more of a tomboy when I was young and continued to adulthood. But I use to fix car engines really well. I enjoy doing that even though it was greasy. so if you ask me about sewing I know nothing.
