Embarrassing Payment Stories
« on: December 23, 2013, 05:39:35 am »
So I just went out to breakfast with my boyfriend. We went through the drive through and when we got to the window he realized he didn't have his wallet. I didn't have mine either and we spent the next  few minutes looking for loose change around  the car. We ended up coming up about a dollar short and the cashier gave us our food anyways!! It was really nice of her but I HATE accepting handouts and this was just an overall embarrassing experience. Does anyone have any embarrassing payment method stories? :moneymouth:

That was nice of her. I can't say that I have any off hand.

that is quite the story - I ended up a similar experience at a toll booth once. Unfortunately I was in the exact change lane and ended up 5 cents short.

Mine was when i had gone to the store and wrote a check for the merchandise and then did not take it out of the check book. Went home and remember that i did not give it to the clerk. She did not catch it either. Of course we had been talking. So whoops and i drove back into town and gave it too her. We both had red faces.

That is suck.  I never have that kind of problem at all.  That is very nice of her to have your food, If I in that situation, I drive it away :)

That has got to be quite embarrassing! I'm not sure whether or not I would have gone back and paid for the items out of embarrassment even though it was the right thing to do.

I don't recall ever having any situation like that.  That's nice that they were understanding, though.

Paying Five Guys a $1 silver coin as a part of my payment of the Double bacon cheese burger... The cashier thought it was a quarter and I had to explain to her that it was a dollar coin... I had no trouble getting back my change, but I end up using the change to put in the tip jar... Should have shut my mouth since I was already giving them the change anyways... I guess its better to tip then give free money to the food chain

That was really nice of her!!
To avoid the embarrassment, I always check if I get the money before we are on our way to some places.
