I bought some cheap items in my lifetime that definitely is true to this phrase, but I've also on occasion bought things at more premium dollar and still turned out poorly. At this point in my life with at least the normal things I deal with I think I have a general sense now what to be determined as good and bad quality.

Depends on how much assembly is needed   just screw two or three parts together is o.k.  But some come with many many small pieces to assemble....forget those. ::)

I have always believed that paying a little more for quality is well worth it.

I have heard people say the bigger the laptop the better. I bought this hp laptop for about 2 years ago for a cheaper prize and it's starting to make me regret it. I always get this fan error and had to reboot my computer every time. It gets worse and worse. Moral of the story just like you said, "You get what you paid for."

i do believe that for a few dollars more, the store will have someone come out and put it together.

Depends on what I  am getting.  If I pan on keeping it a long time  I spend the extra.  If it is just to wear or use a few times I go for the bargain.

How True!  I think most of the time, we have to buy the cheaper, but then end up buying things twice.

I pay for assembly as well. It's not worth the headache of trying to put all the pieces together. For example, IKEA. I like some of their stuff, but I would pay the extra money to have someone assemble any furniture / cabinets I got from them.
