I haven't seen any posts regarding the situation in the Philippines on the forum.  :o

Is anyone following the reports or contributing in some way to the relief efforts?  :rainbow:

I have been keeping up daily with the news from the Philippines, particularly on CNN.  I believe some people may have stopped watching because of the amount of devastation that is being reported.  I can understand that.  It is almost unbelievable.  Along with the tornados, flooding, fires, shootings, etc., it is very depressing.  However, I think we should, in addition to helping in whatever way we can, be thankful for what we have, even if we are not wealthy.  This is the lesson we should learn.

Companies from America have there clothing made there. We are sending aid there on tax payers dollars mostly the middle class ones. How can we send aid to others when we are struggling.

To those who disagree with our sending aid to other countries, have you ever lost EVERYTHING, including your family, in a disaster?

I am a little disenheartened about the news reports.  At first they were saying over 10,000 were dead.  Then later reports were saying less than 3000.  So it makes me wonder how many really died and how bad it really is.    :-\

I have extended family that live there. They said it was bad. We have been helping as best we can. Glad that America helps as much as they can. I understand that there are things wrong in our country like the homeless, starving people etc. But that will always be there no matter how hard we work to eliminate it. Besides it is only temporary help, that money won't be sent like a reoccurring payment over and over again.

What is not funny is that those who complain of tax Dollars being sent for aid. Yet they pic and choose who it is being sent too.

If Fusion Cash wanted to get involved with its members agreeing to a dollar taken from their balance or check id have no problem with it.Every little bit would help im sure. But i will admit, sometimes i have a hard time with charitys cos i dont trust some of the people behind them.
