The purge

Just watched the movie, and was thinking how crazy it would be if that really happened. What would you do if it did?

I saw that movie about two weeks ago. It's incredibly stupid!...I should have known I was gonna hate it, because it's made by the people behind the Paranormal Activity movies...If you knew that "The Purge" was going to happen that night every year at a particular time. Why would anybody be caught dead outdoors? Everyone would be posted inside their homes with guns because you would be suspicious and paranoid of everyone. No one would be able to function for fear of pissing someone off and killed when the holiday came around. I could go on and on about home ridiculous this movie is but I want.

I happen to like the paranormal activity movies, and most people did lock themselves in their houses. The only people who were outside were the psychos who hard a hard on for killing.

Yes, there were psychos on the loose like the people who were after the homeless man, but this holiday is widely accepted and participated among so-called "normal" citizens...In the beginning someone said over the radio that they were going to kill their boss...Why is he assuming that his boss will be outdoors and not at home waiting with a gun? It would seem like in order for most people to purge, they'd have to go directly to that persons home (since the majority of people wouldn't dare be caught outdoors). Which would be dangerous because how do they know that person doesn't have weapons and could cut them down as soon as they walked to the door? Something Ethan Hawks character should have done...There's one ridiculous scene (among many) when the daughters boyfriend attempted to kill the father. His first concern wasn't the immediate and present danger and the fact that he was nearly killed, no...He wanted to know who was the (homeless) man that ran past....The whole premise of the movie is flawed and illogical ...I don't mean to crap on the movies other people like. I'm just sharing my opinion.  ;)

To me the purge was a crazy movie.. I mean if it actually happened i would be very concerned for myself.. Because anything you do could easily *bleep* someone off.. I did however also wonder why there were people in the streets if it was every year.. I didn't really understand the concept of the goverment letting it be legal to kill people..Some people have diffrent opinions and diffrent tastes in not for everyone.. I had a mixed feeling about the movie.. I liked it yet i hated it on some parts because it was just mindless killings.... I Did however enjoy the twist at the end. Otherwise i can see good and bad in the movie.. ^_^

LOL. I agree. Tons of movies are like that though, completely without logic. I haven't seen this one, other than previews.

and your entitled to it. I never said it was a great movie, I actually wasn't that impressed with it, was just thinking if that happened in real life, how crazy it would be.

I haven't seen it myself but I remember the trailers. I thought it sounded like an interesting premise. But just from the trailers you could tell it was going to be kind of predictable.

there wasn't a twist at the end. people were in the streets cuz they wanted to kill, break the law, or they were not privleged with enough money to stay safe. like the homless guy. what was he supost to do
