Reason For Insanity

  What do you think of the reason of Insanity Plea Bargain? 

Personally I think to many people get away with this... They get a slap on the wrist and what do they really learn? Nothing that's what.. If we keep letting people get away with reason of insanity we are telling them it's ok  to do wrong and what a great example we are setting for the rest of the world.. If one lead's one will deffinetly follow.. What are your thoughts?

I just wish people wouldn't manipulate the system 

As a psych major I realize that in some cases it really is necessary, but I agree that more people use it than truly deserve too....

Yep lot of fakers out there. Then you have some that can figure out how to get around the system. But can i claim insanity when i have about had it with hubby and dad at times. I feel like i am pulled in several directions at one time. Oh well such as life.

Like everything, it is flawed, not a perfect system.

I agree that many people who have committed crimes try to use the insanity defense.  However, I have read that statistics show that the insanity defense is rarely accepted by most courts or by most juries.  There are strict guidelines for being able to use the insanity defense.

The plea bargan is just a cop out to try and get out of the trouble one person is in so they don't have to be punished severly. That should be dropped completely. This way the real criminals can finally serve the time they deserve to serve in jail or prison and what not

I'm inclined to agree with you.  People who do wrong should pay the penalty - whatever that may be - not be permitted to cry "insanity"!!!!  But, I do think the only way that would change is if the law was changed first - removing the "insanity" plea.  It should only be allowed if IT CAN BE PROVEN THE PERSON IS "INSANE'!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you can't fix "insane."  If you're going to use that as a plea bargain, prepare to be locked up for the rest of your life because that's where you belong.

Reality Check.....awe.....they're innocent........very difficult to see the signs of breaking-bad to get proper help...maybe we need more care centers for schizophrenia symptoms.....hard subject......brain surgery..........
