weapons

 >:( I heard about the deadly shooting in Washington navy yard. My heart goes out for the family of the victims. I said this, " government should not allow citizens of its country to carry weapons. The government can't identify who is crazy or not until it is too late. We already had a few instances in the past. When are we going to learn?

Too many crazy people out there. They just need to cope with their problems or concerns in a different way. Taking the right of another person life is so not fair and definitely not right. I agree with the previous person, even if you take the gun away, the criminals will always break the law no matter what. I feel sorry for the families of the victims

I believe Benjamin Franklin outlined why the goverment should not decide who gets to bear arms quiet eloquently in this little prose.  Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voteing on what is for dinner.  Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.  So just how many libertys are you willing to give up?

Washington DC has just about restrictive gun laws in the country. Obviously that didn't help.

We need to get serious about dealing with the mentally ill.

I think most people who have guns abide by the law, and then you have the wing nuts, gang bangers (stolen guns) and wannabes (again stolen guns) And all the gun laws are not going to straighten them up.  D.C  . and Chicago have the strictest laws and where do the most murders happen. Yep. So goes to show it is not the law abiding gun owners doing it. The guns are not the killers it is the person pulling the trigger.

Guns, even sophisticated full automatic ones are all built around technology that is over 100 years old. Practically any machine shop could start manufacturing decent quality handguns and even machine guns in very short order. So, guns get banned and bingo you create a brand new underground industry of illegal arms makers... and the criminals will still have guns.

I have but one question.  What makes you think CRIMINALS OBEY LAWS?  You can disarm a country, you CAN'T disarm CRIMINALS.  There will ALWAYS be ways for a criminal to find ANY weapon of their choosing.  Don't you think you have a right to protect yourself and your family from an intruder?  What would you do if someone broke into your home and he started raping your wife?  Is it your choice to stand there and pee your pants HOPING this will scare the criminal away?  LMFAO!  YEAH, THAT'LL WORK!!!

PS:  While your President is busy ARMING our ENEMIES, he wants to DISARM YOU.  Does this make much sense to you because I sure don't see the logic!

People find a way around laws...I think the thing is looking at the issue from both a gun control and a mental health perspective.
