what would you do ? Our freind had a 3 month old billy goat and had to get rid of him. he said if we could not take him He would have to kill him because he couldnt get rid of him right away. We took him and now have found the best home for him and close by us and we can see him whenever we would like. I could NOT see killing ANY animal for that reason or any other reason. he wasnt going to put him down.... he was actually going to KILL him and dispose of him. :sad1: :angry7:    :BangHead:

Shooting him isn't really any worse than a vet giving him a shot.

UPDATE!  I found a nery nice farm for the goat and I KNOW they will take bery good care of him. He is with other goats and animals and seem very happy.  I can also go see him whenever I want to because they are freinds of ours and one of my other freinds reminded me of them so I called and the goat has a very welcome and warm home now. The grandkids love him!  Thank you all for your replies!

I would have taken him, too.  Probably would have kept him if I couldn't find another home for him.  I guess it's fortunate I l live in the country.
Have a wonderful day!

It was good that he found a home for the goat. Killing it should be the last thing on his mind.

If he didn't need to be killed and he now has a good home I don't see the problem.  It was the thing to do.

oh no why would be kill him. i dont understand. how could he kill an innocent animal? it's like that one lady killed this guys dog dogs for him coz he couldnt take care of them anymore. i believe she cut off piece by piece. someone has to be insane to actually kill something or someone.

You did the appropriate thing. Killing an animal due to not being able to keep it is wrong.

You are great!!! I applaud you. Animals can not speak for them selves so we must take care of them. Some people seem to think that they have no feels and can be disposed of or miss treated if they are no longer convenient. The rest of us need to protect animals from those people as often as possible.

That is crazy when there are people who love to eat goat meat. You would not have to kill him and leave him for the buzzards. I think that you did the best thing for the goat. It is good that you can visit hi,. Sounds like he must  be pretty friendly. I had a friend when I was growing up who had a lamb that used to butt you around the yard. It wasn't injurious, but very annoying. She finally sold Clem at an auction. Another idea. Even an ad saying Free Goat or just a sign in your yard. I thank you for saving the Goat and happy visitation!

just to clear some stuff up about the goat. today we went to see the goat and he came just a running to me and nudged his head against me like he was saying he missed me . I actually do not like goats but this one was a very special one to me and I would take in ANY animal( especially younger than a year old) that someoone was going to kill for the simple reason he didnt want it..I have talked to the guy today and he said I dont know why you gave it away... I would have PUT a bullet in him .( He does not eat goat meat.. so that would have been a waste). I told him if he EVER has another animal he does not want or he knows of anyone that does not want an animal, PLEASE call me asap and I will keep it or find it a real good home! He did agree but we will see what happens. I LOVE animals and do not want to see anything happen to any of them. I wish I was rich! I would have all the strays and animals noone wanted. I would have a big farm for them all. I dont care if the animals wwere chickens, goats, cows, horses, dogs, cats or ANYTHING! I LOVE THEM ALL!  I pray every night to be rich to have this dream come true. Maybe Im crazy but ............its my true feeling. :angel11: :angel12:

That was truly wonderful of you.  I guess your friend didn't really love the goat.  Makes me wonder why he had him in the first place.  :dontknow:  Living creatures aren't disposable.  We're all connected.  :peace:
