Do Crowd Flower Tasks "Failures" Reset?
« on: August 02, 2013, 10:34:00 am »
I tried completing a Crowd Flower task today (the first time I tried that particular task) but was rejected for getting too many "wrong" during the training task. However their "correct answer" for what I got "wrong" showed the exact thing that I entered in (there were 2 out of the 6 "wrong" that were slightly different; 1 I might say was in my error but the other one that was different I know my answer was better than the "correct" one). Since I felt that my answers were correct, I ad marked on those "wrong" answers that I felt that the "correct answer" was wrong or unfair.

Does anyone know if Crowd Flower does go back and read those comments about how a person feels that their answers were marked "wrong" incorrectly? And if so, do you know if they go back to the person's task rating and adjust it so that the person can once again work on the task?

BTW, if anyone is interested, the task was to report different sections of an article: the Title, Sub-title, author, content, and any pictures.

I think you'd have better luck signing up for a CrowdFlower account and posting directly to their site with the Job ID and your Contributor ID. When in a task screen, there should be text saying "get support" or "dashboard" in the top right corner. You can find the link and ID info there.

If your Accuracy Scores are too low to complete the Task, I believe that they will STAY that way.  At least that's been my experience.  I was never able to go back to a Task if my scores were too low for their liking.

That is the reason why I stopped doing those particular Tasks, it was always the same, my answer where correct and they would come with somethig regarding answers wrong, or too low accuracy, there scores are really unfair, but now I have being working on some task that are paying pretty good.  Good luck

The tasks have been hit and miss for me. Sometimes I find one that I can actually do and understand what I am supposed to do. I had hoped that they would reset at least at the beginning of the month, but it appears to me that they don't. Maybe it does make a difference to have an account set up directly with them but that is just more work and passwords for me to keep track of. I figure if they want to interface with FC then there should not be the need to set up directly with them just to get some customer service. But if it is important enough to you, that may be the only way to get satisfaction. If you send a support ticket through FC, you will probably be told that you need to contact flower crowd anyhow and that FC has no say so or control over the whole thing. Good luck to you.

The tasks typically take about a month to reset

I'm beginning to like Crowd Flower more than anything else. I have spent more time on there in the past two days due to never seemingly qualifying for surveys and/or no videos; so in order to earn some pennies, I've been going there.

I found that it takes a little time to learn what they really mean and want for answers, but once you get past the learning curve, things go a little faster. When I first started with them, I was lucky to complete any tasks since I would time out or wrong answers. So far lately, things have been going better. I can almost see where I might be able to get my first cash out this year if my 180 days aren't up yet.
