my parents are fighting
« on: July 27, 2013, 11:40:28 pm »
i posted before about my dad being selfish right?

my mom went to my auntie's house to give her some pairs of shoes that she wants to send to her relatives and i guess that's what started the fight

it wasn't even about the sending something to her relatives but something about pawning stuff because his dollar coins went missing (they're in a box somewhere)

anyway, my dad starts off by yelling about the coins and my mom is tired from her live in job and of course she talks back and the whole yelling happens

it was crazy. i never heard my mom yell and talk back like that before. she was even crying and having a hard time talking cause she was crying.

my dad kept bring the past back and my mom, mad goes off with "stop bringing up the past! you have two kids, you have two grandkids, stop living in the past"

it was pretty crazy. i wanted to go there and just yell at my dad cause he doesn't even consider my mom's feelings at all. but i couldn't help but cry.

he doesn't work, and he gets money from disability, but he doesn't help my mom pay for the bills. he yells at my mom because she's behind. of course she's behind, no one's helping her! and she's trying to make him understand and been trying to make him understand for the past few years that her income alone isn't sufficient. and when he has to give money to my mom, he complains like crazy because he doesn't want to give money to her. but he's willing to give money to his relatives like there's no tomorrow.

it was non stop yelling for about a good half an hour. it stopped after he started throwing stuff and my mom's like.. fine go ahead.. that's all you ever do.. just shut up and leave me in peace..

my mom finally said what she's been wanting tho. separation. i don't know if its gonna happen though, cause my dad's just gonna forget about what my mom said after two weeks.

i wonder if its okay to rant stuff in here.. xD

I am sorry that your mother feels like her back is against the wall and your dad won't help her.  I don't get it.  They are her shoes and, as for his missing coins, it is remotely possible that he put them somewhere and forgot where he put them.  I know how it feels.  My daughter moved to Georgia with her husband and he gives her no help either.  My daughter goes off on her husband too.  Your mother went off because she is tired of him ranting and raving like a lunatic.  I would have gone off on him too.  You needed to rant, and I hope, by doing so, it made you feel better.  Your dad sounds like my husband.  He rants and raves too and forgets after awhile.  Unfortunately, for him, I have the memory of an elephant and, when he pisses me off, I let him have both barrels. :icon_rr: :female: :male:

I rant stuff in here all of the time.  We are human and this is a good place to express your feelings.  I hope all goes well with your parents though.

Yea that seems like bickering just because he wants to.  If gets money for his disability that doesn't mean he should help with the house hold bill he lives there to.

I'm really sorry to hear what going on with your parent infront off you.
It is very sad when two aint working together as couple in trust. Especially when it comes
about money. This thing call money is evil and absolutely always destroyed happiness between
married couples and families.. I'll pray for u all... :angel11: :angel11:

That sucks.  I hope your father needs to step up and help do his fair share so your mother isn't stressed out.

Sorry dear.  It sucks when your parent's fight.  Whenever it happens with mine, it always sounds like there is a clear person who's right yet the argument goes on forever.  My mom has recently started complaining about her doctor wanting to put her on medication and she doesn't want it.  My dad, however, is in favor of medication if it helps her, so she goes along with it and gets the prescription and then complains about how the doctor and him are against her and forcing her into this.  It just drives me up the wall to hear her complain about this when she agreed to take them in the first place.

Anyway, hang in their hun.  Things will get better.

thank you all for your awesome support.

honestly, i'm a bit worried about the two separating even if they're adults and stuff.

i guess maybe cause i don't know who i should go to. it's like half of me will have to side one while the other half sides with the other? i might be wrong on this. i'm old enough but i have so much respect for the two that i don't know what i should do. my dad can't really take care of himself especially if he decides to stay in the philippines when he goes on his vacation. and then my mom's always working.. i pity myself sometimes..

maybe i should tell my mom to counter his "past this past that" talks and yellings with "past this past that"

Anyway, thanks a lot you guys! =)

Just wanted to add that ranting shows that people are human. Public life is so full of putting up images, using insecere words to either protect yourself or get ahead, and the social stigma that showing any sign of weakness is a no no. I have more respect for people who are willing to just let it all out.
