the big three
« on: May 29, 2009, 01:12:51 pm »
ok, so im a little ticked. our government gave our AMERICAN auto industries bonuses years ago to start outsourcing their production... for instance alot of fords went to mexico. And since alot of the work is done outside the US the money that is made outside the US can be kept tax free in off shore bank accounts. This is the starting point of what went wrong with the auto industry, in  my oh so humble opinion.  This is wrong they should have kept the jobs in the US..... anyone else feel the same, or differenty?  :bootyshake:

I feel some research on outsourcing is necessary.

uh ohhhh.... looks like another marathon topic for you.....

Initially outsourcing seems to be a good idea, (cheaper products to buy, different variety of products, more profits for the stockholders)

But the major prob is that it takes away jobs from this country, (less jobs= less money to spend on: cheaper products to buy, different variety of products or stocks)

In the short run it seems to make sense, unless you look at the long term affects.....

note: i am guilty of buying those cheaper non-USA products and contribute to problem

This is a major problem that has been going on for quite a number of years, and will continue to happen because the USA companies can get products produced at a lower price and the wages they pay are next to nothing.

Yes, it is upsetting that a lot of jobs are being outsourced to other countries.  I know of complete companies that have move because of the taxes and tariffs in the US. >:(

Outsourcing is a natural result of globalization.

I think that every taxpayer, or family (as long as they pay taxes) should receive a new vehicle from GM....since we pretty much own it anyways now! 60% is alot, and lord only knows were going to be paying on it our whole lives!! give us a free damn vehicle!
