While I am not in your age group I can give you a couple of suggestions.  Buying a car is like buying a cash sinkhole.  You will be constantly pouring cash into the vehicle for maintenace, insurance, taxes, fuel, etc.  The other things to consider is what you want to do with this vehicle.  Will it be used just for leisure trips, driving to and from school / work, or will it be used to haul items from point A to point B.  Will you be transporting yourself only or a group of folks.  All these things should be considered before purchasing a vehicle.

Me and my hubby just bought a used BMW for 6000.  Regardless of any used car you buy at any price, you'll still spend even more after you buy it, to get it checked out and fixed for anything.
