I am married with kids.  I would not like to be single now and still have my kids to support as a single mom.  It's just too hard.  I would have liked to be single before but it can be kinda lonely.  If you have a good partner then being married is not so bad but when you don't being single is sometimes a great idea.  Keep in mind the grass is always greener on the other side.  Are we ever happy?

I would prefer to be single without kids like now. I only have to worry about myself, and I can concentrate on what I am doing without the distractions of kids.

I perfer being single was married for 14 years horriable split. Marriage is just too much stress and work. Being Single I am free to do whatevr I want without having to consult a spouse. I will not marry again.

I'm not married but I live with my sons father like we are and I would much rather be single. Even though being single would make me a single mom I don't really mind. A relationship is way to much work and much more trouble than its worth.
~It's just my opinion...don't be mad at me~

I'm not married yet, but if the question were rephrased in my case, being in a relationship or single, I'd actually have to say SINGLE. For the first time in 5 years, I'm actually single, and have been for a few months. I have an awful fear of being alone, so this is a huge step for me.

I prefer being single... or in a relationship. But I think now a days people feel that it's a requirement to eventually get married. You don't have to get married if you don't want. Just because that's the tradition, doesn't mean you have to follow it. If you love each other and you're perfectly happy the way you are, you shouldn't feel the need to push your relationship further. Marriage seems to ruin a lot of people anyway. I would never want a joint bank account or any of that.

SAD BUT TRUE, but, I have to agree with most of the people's comments on here...I have been married 3 times now:
#1) Lasted only 3 yrs, but I had just turned 18 and should have listened to my mother.
#2) Lasted 15 yrs, and was great, until I found out that I was wife #6, and he had already bought a new home for wife 7!!!
#3) Was just a HUGE mistake...I was still sick over my last divorce, and my father has JUST died THAT week of cancer... I was not thinking too well..

But, now that I am old, (46 yrs old) I can tell you, its better to just be by yourself than to settle for someone just because you dont want to be alone..my new AND LAST husband has taken me to the bank and is just the most selfish person that I have ever known, (& I knew him for 27 yrs before marring him, but I thought that he had grew up, or changed...a leapord dont change its spots, that is soooo true!)

So, I think, and its only my own personal opinion, but..its better to just be by yourself instead of accepting someone because you dont want to be alone...I am alone anyways, so I lost almost everything because I didnt want to be alone? It's no ones but my own fault for being so blind...
