Bullying should not be tolerated period. Its destructive behavior that hurts many people. Schools must teach about this. If a school does not take bullying seriously by now then I would report the school and complain. There is no excuse why bullies should be allowed to continue with the destrcutive behavior of bullying.

I used to work in a preschool and it's hard because it's not the structured classroom setting you're thinking of. There is no teacher's desk to sit by. They're in a playroom. As a teacher, the most you can do is make the trouble child sit aside and not play for a while, which doesn't really have the desired effect on 90% of children.

Also, at age 4, ALL children hit other kids. They ALL yell. They ALL steal things from one another. They ALL throw things. (And before you say "Oh no! Not my child or grandchild!" ...We hear that all the time.) Even the really great kids have their outbursts. Teachers constantly impress upon children that these things are bad and children who do it will have to sit out of activities, but there's not much else that can be done for discipline unless a child has a true episode in which it's decided that it's no longer safe for them to be at the school.

My take on Bullying  :dontknow: :confused1::Until  grownup take responsibility in our social gather: such as the religious communities, this would definite help.
Children hear us gossip about each other in these social setting and home. Mostly all  Family are dysfunctional, But we need to stop making excuses. Home is where it all starts. Working parents are to tried to deal with behavior problem in a positive matter.

Canada have parenting classes that you must attend which give parent support and teach skills on behavior problem. There  are child service that also have support classes for parents in the USA.  Do school have PTA any more?

By the way I a mother, grand and great grand: I teach Bible verse and change the meaning of a words Example: B-beautiful, I=interest T=tolerance, C=commit to a positive life, H=heaven places. Make up your own. Build confidence, self esteem  in  your child. Find out what going on what going on in the bully life. I send all Bully Pure Love  and Light. :star: :angel12:

Bullying has been a problem for many years. Even when I was a young girl. I have a son who was bullied. If they could fix it they would meaning school systems. There is no fix to this because all parents are different. You can not force another Parent to fix their kid when they think there is no problem.

We can't take care of our child when they are at school, but the school should be aware of bullying and inform the parents of bully.

Schools should make sure that our kids are safe when they are at school. Bullying should be prevented at all costs. Sometimes, kids dont even tell their parents about stuff that happens at school.

Bulling id definitely a problem but most parents don't see it unless their child is on the receiving end. We need to teach children from an early age to be kind to others all the time. We have lost sight of important it is to teach basic values to children.
I have to whole-heartedly agree with this comment.  It has come to a point where the whole nation should come together and try to do something about bullying.  I feel we should all take responsibility for our children and teach them love and understanding not hate and intolerance. :BangHead:

I wa bullied at school for a short time. was quite and with drawn. I had moved from a very small school to a big school. But one day i had had all i could take and snap. Beat the tar out of the older kid that was bulling me. From then on everything was ok.
But my niece was bullied  in te third grade by a teacher. Yes a teacher. I caught the old biddy with my niece in a corner and she was ragging on her like crazy. And had been doing it for a while and niece got to where she was always sick and did not want to go to school. Well i yank that teacher away and sit her on her can. Yep the police were called. But when all the other kids started telling on the teacher and some of the other teachers also said what a mean person  she was . She got canned and my niece was happy going to school.  Parents don't put up with it.
