That particular survey (and many other $5 payout surveys) was a "two part" survey.  With those, you get credited after completing "part 1" but it gets revoked down the line if you do not complete or do not qualify for "part 2".  That's why some members kept credit and some did not.  There should be a disclosure about the two part survey when one is listed on the site or sent via email.

Or better yet, perhaps one should receive credit AFTER completing both parts. That's pretty discouraging and frustrating to think you completed and got credit for a good survey, but didn't realize there was a part 2, or didn't qualify for part 2 and then have the credit revoked.
It's unfortunately a limitation of the tracking systems used by the survey providers.  There is a disclosure about the 2-part nature of the survey on the following places:
1) FC Surveys page, under the survey name
2) In the invite email, if one is sent
3) Underneath the credit entry on the FC Surveys list of credited surveys.
4) In the offer credit notification email

I just added another warning about it on the credited offers list on the "Account" page.
I know this is not ideal but again it's out of our hands.

Well, since I haven't received any of these emails, I haven't seen the warnings, but good to know they're in place. Thanks for doing what you can to make us aware of these kinds of situations!!  :notworthy:

Yeah, that is what I don't like about those kinds of surveys. Sometimes you never get the follow up email to do the second part, so obviously you were eliminated after the initial crediting. But it's not really fair because you still take a fairly long survey with some of those, so you should be able to keep the first money they give you, even if they do weed you out of the second part.

I agree....they should give an incentive for each part separately to compensate for your time.
