I know by the end of 2014 I must have some kind of medical insurance otherwise I'll be paying penalty, but which one is a good company to sign up with? Any suggestions? :-  :dog: thanks

The most affordable medical insurance would have to be one offered by the government. It's medicaid/medicare. I'm sure everyone's heard of it. To qualify you have to have very little or no income though.

Well I knew that :) but forgot to mention other insurance besides medicaid? I won't qualify under Medicaid and my work does not provide any medical insurance coverage

You did not mention if you are old enough for Medicare, which is not linked to income for eligibility, but I assume you are not.  Most insurance companies offer a variety of health plans and the cost depends on factors such as high or low deductibles, basically the amount of risk you are willing to incorporate into your coverage.  It takes a lot of research and can get pretty confusing.  I would suggest talking to people in your area, as plans also vary by state.  Get recommendations from friends or acquaintances whom you trust.
