Wow, how unusual.  I really feel for you.  That must make your birthday rough.  Were you an only child?  I don't know, but I would probably intentionally celebrate the following day each year.  I know that my Grandfather's birthday was 1/1 and since his passing, it is so hard to ring in the New Year.
