I do not watch the weather channel much but I think it does sound a little silly to name the winter storms.

Weather Channel I watch the channel pretty often, Yes some of the naming do sound strange.
 

the only weather channels i usually go by is ch.7 becuz they give you the right information about what's gonna be 2day's weather forcast and for rest of the week as well!

I do not watch the weather channel, unless your talking about the one I have (here) on my PC? I don't see anything wrong with naming winter storms. We don't get all that many here (California) but when we do...down comes the cliffs and mudslides.

I was a bit surprised to see them naming winter storms now but I guess it makes it a little more interesting.
