DC can be alot of fun, along with Very Interesting... Just don't let the politics spoil it...that and keep your eye out for street crime (same as any Big City)... If you've never been there it's great... I'd much rather be there anytime besides Winter and/or Mid-Summer.

The museums are fun and unique, but I've never been to the Native American museums because of timing.  That's going to be my first visit next time I go. Do go to DC, I think you would enjoy it.  It's a very historical and interesting place to be.

I would love to go there someday but it will be so crowded and I would like to spend some more time there and be able to see and visit everywhwere.

I live in the metropolitan area of DC and do not go there very often,  But I hoped you had fun.  The crime is bad on the bad parts of the city like SE DC but around the museums and the tourist area the crime is not too bad.  Just be careful and don't stay after dark. 

Yes, the news around the DC area are dismal but still not the tourist area and it is not cool to give a bad rep to the whole area when it is just one small part of the City.
